He started his career as an EMT for LifeNet in April of 2016 and received his paramedic certification in February of 2017.
“I knew that I wanted to be in the medical field but didn’t know what direction I wanted to go. Out of curiosity, I enrolled in EMT school at Paris Junior College. As soon as I got into the clinical setting, I knew this was the field I wanted to be in,” Ethan said.
He enjoys working in an industry where he gets to make a positive difference.
“Encountering and helping people in all walks of life is what I enjoy the most,” he said. “It is so fulfilling to get to put a smile on somebody’s face knowing that you helped them no matter how big or small their problem was.”
Ethan also enjoys his work family.
“I saw a quote recently stating, ‘It’s not where you work, but who you work with.’ I can say I have truly been blessed with some great coworkers who have helped me with anything I needed,” he said.
For others considering a career in EMS, Ethan offers this advice: “It is such a fulfilling career. Remember that you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, so get rid of whatever reason you might have for not enrolling in EMT or paramedic school.”
When Ethan is not at work, he enjoys running, swimming, playing guitar, and watching football.
